Passion's Secret - Available Now |
Passion's Spirit"Doris Lemcke uses beautiful prose, especially introducing chapters and describing the settings. The reader feels they are in the thick of the story itself. The characters are real, exhibiting complex emotions and choices even though the time period is the 19th Century. Elena Santiago expresses raw feelings that bring the reader into empathy as she struggles with her mixed heritage and a love that borders on hate. The search for gold hooks the reader to the very end, unsure of a happy ending. The story is laced with information about Indian customs and the cruelty they experienced at the hands of whites. The flow of the story holds the reader to the end. It's a book to read in one setting to feel the emotions and follow the characters as they travel from West to East and back across a changing country."
